Me: The dishdash Omar got me.
Mom: Fine but don't wear a hijab. I want you to show your beautiful hair, your hair is beautiful, you shouldn't hide it.
Me: That's why I cover it...
Mom: I'm telling you: you will not wear a hijab for the wedding. You don't live in Saudi Arabia!
Me: I don't care. I'll wear it.
Mom: People will think you have cancer or you're sick, you won't fucking wear it.
Me: You think I care what people think of me? I wear it because I please myself and God when I wear it. I don't live to please people I don't even know personally, why would I hesitate? It's my life and it's my decision. If they think I'm bald or sick, I don't care. I won't take my hijab off, I will never do it, so please stop asking me that; hijab makes me happy 'cause it's my proof of obedience and devotion to God.

All my elementary/high school are married and already have children. When I see them, they ask me if I’m married and I tell them I’m not. Then they laugh at me and have fun because I’m ‘too old’ nobody will marry me.
